Why does Thor respect Captain America so much?

Thor respects Captain America much more compared to the other Avengers. In fact i would say Thor respect Cap the most in all of the MCU.

Thor attacked Captain America when they first met, but Captain America did not attack him. Captain America simply defended himself to bring the conflict to a close. Steve didn't add to the tension by yelling at Thor. Steve wasn't cocky when Thor was knocked back, and he tried to deescalate the situation.

"Are we done here?" Steve inquired. His body language clearly indicated that he does not want to fight, but that he will if forced to. Thor relaxed a little and agrees.

Thor most likely admires and respects Steve's humble demeanour. So much so that Thor, a god-like entity, agreed to carry out Steve's commands. Steve is injured during the Battle of New York, but he recovers. When Thor asks Steve if he's ready for more, instead of quitting, Steve simply answers "what. I am just getting started." Thor, on the other hand, notices that Steve is in pain but refuses to give up, causing Thor to regard Steve as an equal. Thor admires Steve's fighting abilities as well.

From that moment on, Thor respected Captain America. They both always fought side to side.

In fact, Loki impersonates Captain America, not Tony Stark or Hawkeye or Black Widow or even Bruce Banner. Perhaps Loki is aware of Thor's secret admiration for Captain America.

While fighting, Thor converses with Captain America. During battles, they say the following:

Apart from Iron Man, Captain America is the only Avenger who does weapon combos with Thor.

Thor also gave Captain America wine which was aged for 1000 years and not meant for mortal men.

This meant that Thor thought that Captain America was immortal because he gave Captain America the wine.

Even when all the Avengers were trying to lift Mjolnir, Captain America was the one who shook it. This was when Steve Rogers fully earned Thor’s respect, because Steve Rogers is currently the only mortal man to move Mjolnir. Steve moving Mjolnir in my opinion was when Thor fully respects Steve Rogers.

Thor sees Steve Rogers as a kindred spirit who fights for justice while remaining quiet and humble. Thor admires someone like that, as opposed to Tony Stark, who is flashy but a prick.

Captain America is the sole original Avenger with whom Thor speaks following his return in Infinity War. Captain America, aside from Bruce Banner, is delighted on seeing Thor return.

Captain America saves Thor's life in Avengers: Endgame by grasping Mjolnir and flinging it at Thanos. Captain America lifting Mjolnir didn't surprise Thor in the least as according to him, "he knew it".

So this is why Thor respects Captain America so much.

Thor holds Captain America in high regard. Despite the fact that Tony Stark is smarter and has superior weaponry... Captain America has a more pure heart than the others. Ultron was not created by Captain America. Thor is treated as an equal by Captain America, not as a lord. In fact, if Thor and the Hulk were to fight in the Avengers Civil War, Thor would almost certainly side with Captain America.

In real life the actors have a great relationship as well. In fact, Chris Hemsworth was like “If Chris Evans doesn’t have kids, i’ll adopt him.” Additionally they weren't even allowed to promote Avengers: Endgame together, as they goof around instead of working.

According to a Variety interview with Chris Hemsworth, the actor claimed, "With Chris Evans, I have a real brotherly bond. I think they wouldn't pair us up on this press tour, because we just spend the whole time screwing around and none of it is on topic."  "We had too much fun together, and truly like kids in school, we were separated because we weren't getting s--- done." Chris Evans said in a Variety interview. As previously said, the two Chris' have a strong bond, so it's not unexpected that the producers realized that combining them would only result in monkey business and no work.

Anyway, the reason why Thor respects Steve so much is one thing.

His noble spirit.

What if Steve had gone to Titan with Tony in Infinity War?

The issue with the Titan battle was that it was being directed by two haughty individuals who were unwilling to cooperate. They were destined to be dysfunctional with a team that had such a wide range of fighting techniques. You can see Iron Man and Star-Lord mirroring each other's positions during the negotiation. None of them were prepared to set aside their egos or act honorably by remaining cool and collected. Captain America is a take-charge leader, and war strategies are frequently left in his capable hands. People who are familiar with him have come to the conclusion that he is the ideal leader to follow. In essence, Star-Lord would engage Captain America in conversation rather than Iron Man first. Where Quill would get a strong sense of leadership from him.  Either that, or Peter Quill would be familiar with Captain America because he is Earth-born and possibly a fan. In either case, I believe Quill would see his lack of authority. Iron Man and Star-Lord would certainl...

Which Avenger would be the scariest if turned evil?

Who would be the scariest is the question being posed here, not who would be the most powerful. It's a challenging question. However, I believe I would have to choose Captain America. I can imagine you shaking your head at me. How is Cap a more terrifying antagonist than, say, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, or Scarlet Witch? That's easy. Captain America is the character I chose since he is the least corruptible. Consider this. The other Avengers members are amply demonstrated to be humanly fallible: Who knows what sort of things Black Widow did while she worked against SHIELD. After losing his family, Hawkeye turned into a ronin who slaughtered criminals with shocking brutality. Iron Man, who has occasionally shown himself to be incredibly egotistical and conceited, he also created Ultron. If Hulk is not restrained, he becomes a monster. As a result of his disobedience and arrogance, Thor has a tendency to brag and has spent a good deal of time being unworthy. Captain America not so...
